A United Airlines Airbus A320-200 operating a service from Charleston, SC to Houston, TX has declared an emergency and is diverting to New Orleans.
United flight UA1195 was en route to George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport when flight crew declared the emergency with squawk code 7700. The flight is now on diversion to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY)

United flight UA1195 declared the emergency from the cruise whilst transiting Louisiana airspace of flight plan track to Houston. Flight crew then initiated a diversion to New Orleans. The nature of the emergency prompting the off-track diversion is not yet known.

Having initiated a diversion and descent for New Orleans (MSY), flight UA1195 is now in the vicinity of the airport at 6,000 feet. The flight’s intentions from this point are not clear.
13:15 UTC: Diversion to Baton Rouge (BTR)
Having initially made for New Orleans (MSY), United flight UA1195 is now making good a diversion to nearby Baton Rouge (BTR). With the aircraft now on its approach to Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, flight crew have maintained the priority squawk code 7700.

Originally bound for Houston (IAH), United Airlines flight UA1195 has now landed at the diversion airport Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR).
The aircraft conducting today’s UA1195 service to Houston is an Airbus A320-200, registered N432UA. This is a 28.5 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier United Airlines. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in May 1996.
The aircraft was in a previous incident on 27 May 2024 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). In that incident, the aircraft aborted its take off after the left engine failed and caught fire.
It was subsequently returned to service on 30 May 2024.
