United Airlines Flight UA2049 Dallas-Denver Declares Emergency

United Airlines flight UA2049, an A319-100 inbound from Dallas (DFW), declared an emergency during the descent into Denver (DEN) on 27 April.

A United Airlines flight operating from Dallas, TX to Denver, CO declared an emergency while approaching the destination on 27 April 2025.

United Airlines flight UA2049, Airbus A319-100 inbound from Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), declared the emergency with the squawk code 7700. The flight was established in the descent phase for Denver International Airport (DEN) when the emergency was declared.

Flight UA2049 transmitted the emergency transponder code 7700 as it passed through flight level FL190 on descent for Dallas.

The nature of the emergency is not yet known. Following the declaration, flight crew continued with the descent and approach for the destination.

The subsequently landed without further incident on runway 16R Dallas International Airport at 18:41 UTC. The landing was made slightly ahead of schedule.

Flight data shows that United Airlines emergency flight UA2049 had made an on-time departure out of Dallas Fort Worth Airport at 11:40 local time on 27 April.

Following departure, the aircraft set course normally, climbing to flight level FL360 for the northerly service to Denver.

Top of descent and initial approach procedures were similarly conducted normally. Flight crew squawked transponder code 7700 at 18:22 UTC as the aircraft descended through FL190.

It has been operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in November 2001.
