It has been revealed this week that United Airlines have extended the suspension of flights to Amman, Jordan until late October.
Courtesy of AeroRoutes.com, information has been provided on the details surrounding the suspension.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
The Suspension of Flights to Amman by United Airlines…
United Airlines has suspended flights between Washington Dulles & Amman since August 18th.
Furthermore, the suspension looked to be in place until September 16th.
However, the airline has appeared to have removed flights on sale from September 16th to October 27th, representing an extension in the suspension of flights.
When the flight was in operation, it operated on a three times per week basis.
Using it’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, it operated on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Tensions In The Region?
Airlines like United Airlines and others have been cancelling flights in the region, which includes Amman and Tel Aviv.
Continued tensions in the region are providing unsafe environments for commercial flights to operate mostly.
For example, Delta Air Lines recently extended their flight cancellations to Tel Aviv, amongst other airlines.
With Amman being next door to Tel Aviv in that regard, it isn’t surprising that United Airlines has decided to extend the suspension of flights.
Overall…
In conclusion, it is clear that the flight suspensions into the likes of Amman by United Airlines may continue on as a theme.
With no end in sight to the regional tensions, airlines are reluctant to restart commercial services into the region.
Moreover, all eyes will be on when such flights can resume, as it is a profitable area of the world for the airline industry.
But for now, all we can do is wait to see what happens moving forward.
