United Airlines is set for a further expansion of its Pacific network. The airline recently revealed plans to become the only U.S. carrier offering service to Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

These daily flights will depart from Hong Kong starting this fall, making it easier for North American travelers to reach these vibrant cities.

In December United will then launch the first nonstop flights between the U.S. and Adelaide, South Australia.

In addition, United is also adding a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila from October.

United Airlines Pacific Expansion

The latest expansion of United Airlines’ Pacific network sees a number of firsts for the carrier. The new routes to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City aim to meet the rising demand for travel to these popular spots.

On December 11, United will also introduce the first nonstop flights from the U.S. to Adelaide, Australia—just in time for the warm Australian summer. This seasonal service, running three times a week, strengthens United’s position as the top U.S. airline for flights to Australia.

With existing routes to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, the addition of Adelaide expands options for travelers seeking adventure Down Under.

Meanwhile, United is enhancing its service to the Philippines. Starting October 25, the airline will add a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila.

This gives passengers the choice of daytime or evening departures, offering more flexibility. United remains the only U.S. airline flying to the Philippines, with service to both Manila and Cebu.

Connections to 32 Pacific Cities

With these additions, United will connect the U.S. to 32 Pacific cities—four times more than any other U.S. carrier. This cements its status as a global leader in international travel.

“We’re transforming how people explore the world,” said Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances. “Our unmatched schedule and destinations open doors to new experiences, whether for leisure, adventure, or business.”

United’s dominance in the Pacific is clear. Over the past year, it carried more than six million passengers to and from the region.

Bangkok, Thailand: Tradition and Energy

Starting October 26, United will launch daily flights to Bangkok, making it the only U.S. airline to do so. Operated on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, these flights welcome travelers to explore the city’s rich culture.

Bangkok blends bustling energy with timeless traditions. Visitors can marvel at ancient temples like Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Arun, relax in Lumpini Park, or zip through the streets in a tuk-tuk. Street food delights like mango sticky rice and boat noodles await, while the Srinagarindra Train Night Market offers a lively evening scene with local eats and music.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: History and Flavor

Also beginning October 26, United will offer daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City—the only U.S. airline to serve this destination. Flown on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, this route invites travelers to dive into the city’s dynamic past and present.

Highlights include the Saigon Opera House and Notre-Dame Basilica. Visitors can scooter through scenic rice fields, savor pho from street stalls, or sip craft beer at local microbreweries.

Adelaide, Australia: An Aussie Summer

United breaks new ground with nonstop flights to Adelaide from San Francisco, starting December 11. This three-times-weekly seasonal service, flown on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, makes United the first U.S. carrier to connect the two cities directly.

Alongside routes to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, plus a partnership with Virgin Australia, United offers unmatched access to Australia.

Adelaide tempts with wine regions like Barossa Valley, the wild beauty of Kangaroo Island, and fresh finds at the Adelaide Central Markets.

Manila, Philippines: More Options

On October 25, United adds a second daily flight from San Francisco to Manila, flown on a Boeing 777-300ER. This gives travelers day or night options.

Manila offers historic gems like Fort Santiago, tasty treats like halo-halo, and shopping at the massive Mall of Asia. A quick trip to Tagaytay reveals the stunning Taal Volcano.

Conclusion

United Airlines boasts the world’s largest airline network, with about 500 daily flights to 150 international destinations.

Its rapid growth in the Pacific and beyond keeps it ahead of the pack, connecting travelers to the globe like never before.
