A United Airlines Boeing 787-9 operating flight UA613 enroute from Lagos, Nigeria to Washington Dulles (IAD) has declared an emergency, squawking transponder code 7700.
United Airlines flight UA613, a Boeing 787-8 outbound from Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport declared a general emergency and is now making a direct return to Lagos.

Flight UA613 declared the emergency whilst outbound over Ivory Coast airspace at cruising level FL350. The flight is now making good a direct return to the origin airport Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS).
The nature of the emergency is not yet known.

Having established on a return track to Lagos (LOS), flight UA613 is now on descent, passing through FL220. Flight crew are maintaining the emergency transponder code 7700 for priority.

The aircraft conducting the UA613 service, originally bound for Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is a Boeing 787-8, registered N27903. This is a 12.1 year old widebody aircraft belonging to the US carrier United Airlines. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in December 2012.

The flight, originally bound for Washington Dulles (IAD) is now below 10,000 feet under vectoring for its return to Lagos.

Having declared an emergency whilst outbound for Washington Dulles (IAD) earlier today, United Airlines flight UA613 has now returned and landed at the departure airport Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
