A United Airlines flight departing for Las Vegas made a precautionary return to Newark, NJ after reporting low oil pressure on one engine on 25 February 2025.
United airlines flight UA1544, operated by a Boeing 757-200, had conducted a departure from runway 22R Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
The flight was to be a scheduled service to Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).

Shortly after takeoff, flight crew reported a low oil pressure situation with the aircraft’s left-hand engine. The climb procedure was terminated and a direct return to the departure airport was negotiated.
The flight landed without further incident on runway 22L, just under 30 minutes after its initial departure.
A subsequent FAA report confirmed the after takeoff incident. “United Airlines Flight 1544 returned safely to Newark Liberty International Airport around 6:40 a.m. local time on Tuesday, Feb. 25, after the crew reported possible engine issues. The Boeing 757-200 was heading to Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. The FAA will investigate.”

The airline mustered a replacement aircraft to complete the scheduled rotation to Harry Reid International Airport.
Flight data shows that flight UA1544 had made its initial departure from Newark Liberty International Airport at 0616 local time on 25 February.
Following takeoff, the climb procedure was terminated at 3000 feet and a direct return to the origin airport was then carried out.

The aircraft conducting the UA1544 service to Las Vegas was a Boeing 757-200, registered N13110. This is a 30.3 year old aircraft belonging to the carrier United Airlines. It has been operational service with the airline since October 2010.
Prior to its present service, it was operated by legacy carrier Continental Airlines from its initial delivery from the factory in December 1994.
