Turkish Airlines has officially claimed its long-held position as the world’s most expansive airline network through a Guinness World Records™ certification.

The airline, which has unofficially led this category since 2012, received formal recognition as the carrier serving the most countries worldwide.

The historic certification ceremony took place at Chile’s Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport, coinciding with Turkish Airlines’ first flight to the South American nation. The event brought together senior airline executives and Guinness World Records™ officials to mark this milestone.

Actively Serving 120 Countries

According to Guinness World Records™ assessment standards, Turkish Airlines actively serves 120 countries through its regular flight operations over the past year.

The airline’s total reach extends to 131 countries when including temporarily paused routes and the new Chilean destination.

Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi marked the occasion by stating: “Today’s ceremony in Santiago, Chile celebrates both our newest route and our Guinness World Records™ achievement for most countries served.”
