TUI is set to make summer holidays even more exciting for Welsh travellers with a major expansion at Cardiff Airport.
The travel giant has unveiled new routes and increased flight frequencies to some of the most sought-after holiday destinations.
This move offers holidaymakers more choice, flexibility, and convenience when planning their summer getaway from their local airport.
New Destinations
Starting in summer 2026, TUI will base a fourth aircraft at Cardiff Airport, significantly expanding the range of holiday spots available. This addition will make it easier for Welsh travellers to jet off to stunning destinations.
Hurghada, Egypt: From 2nd May 2026, TUI will launch a brand-new route to Hurghada. This exciting destination promises Egyptian sunshine and vibrant culture, perfect for a memorable holiday.
Faro, Portugal: On 21st May 2026, a new route to Faro will take travellers to Portugal’s golden beaches and breathtaking coastlines, ideal for sun-seekers and explorers alike.
Fuerteventura, Canary Islands: This route will be new for summer 2026 but will also run during the winter season, starting 20th December 2025. Holidaymakers can enjoy Fuerteventura’s year-round sunshine and stunning landscapes with greater flexibility.
These new routes make it easier for Welsh travellers to discover diverse destinations, from Egypt’s rich history to Portugal’s coastal charm and the Canary Islands’ natural beauty.
More Flights to Popular Spots
TUI is also responding to growing demand by boosting flight frequencies to several holiday hotspots. This means more opportunities to visit beloved destinations like Turkey, Spain, and Tunisia.
Antalya, Turkey: TUI will add an extra weekly flight, increasing from three to four flights per week. This makes it easier to explore Turkey’s vibrant resorts and historic sites.
Gran Canaria, Spain: Flights to Gran Canaria will double, moving from one to two weekly flights, offering more chances to enjoy its sunny beaches.
Palma de Mallorca, Spain: The popular Mallorca route will see an increase from five to six weekly flights, perfect for those craving Mediterranean vibes.
Enfidha, Tunisia: An additional weekly flight will bring the total to three, giving travellers more options to visit Tunisia’s cultural treasures.
Tenerife, Spain: Tenerife will also gain an extra weekly flight, increasing to four, making it simpler to soak up the island’s year-round warmth.
These changes ensure Welsh holidaymakers have more flexibility to plan their trips to these in-demand destinations.
