A Transavia flight operating between Amsterdam and Lanzarote has declared an emergency enroute and is currently on diversion to Faro Airport (FAO).
Transavia flight HV5685, a Boeing 737-800 bound for Lanzarote Airport declared the emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst passing south of Spain on flight plan track.

Transavia light HV5685, originally bound for Lanzarote Airport, has now landed at the diversion airport Faro (FAO). The nature of the emergency prompting this morning’s diversion is not yet known.
Flight data shows that flight crew transmitted emergency transponder code 7700 at 07:49 UTC. This occurred whilst the aircraft was in cruising flight at flight level FL370 (37,000 feet).
The aircraft had passed to the south of Spain when the emergency was declared. Flight crew then carried out the off track diversion to nearby Faro Airport.

The aircraft conducting this morning’s Transavia HV5685 service from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) was a Boeing 737-800, registered PH-HSJ. This is a 10.9 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Transavia. It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery from the factory in March 2014.
