Thai Airways International (THAI), Thailand’s national carrier, celebrated a milestone on July 1st, 2024, with the inaugural flights to Milan, Italy, and Oslo, Norway.
This route inauguration marks the return of THAI’s services to these popular European destinations.
The reinstated service caters to the growing European travel demand and offers seamless connections for passengers.
Bangkok: Celebrating Renewed Connections
The occasion was marked by a special ceremony held at Suvarnabhumi International Airport’s departure terminal in Bangkok.
THAI’s Chairman of the Plan Administrators, Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, co-presided over the event.
Mr. Amranand was present alongside Police General Visanu Prasattongosoth, Chairman of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT).
Other dignitaries in attendance included THAI executives like Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron (Plan Administrator) and Mr. Chai Eamsiri (Chief Executive Officer).
They attended alongside AOT’s President, Mr. Kerati Kijmanawat, and Suvarnabhumi Airport Director, Mr. Kittipong Kittikachorn.
The ceremony was further graced by the presence of THAI and AOT senior management members and esteemed guests.
To mark the occasion, THAI also presented departing passengers on these inaugural flights with special souvenirs. This added a touch of warmth and personalization to the experience.
Continued Demand for European Travel
THAI’s decision to resume flights to Milan and Oslo reflects a strategic response. It seeks to cater to the rising demand for travel between Europe and Asia-Pacific.
These new routes will provide passengers with convenient connections to major European cities through THAI’s membership in the Star Alliance network.
Travelers flying from Bangkok to Milan or Oslo can now enjoy the ease of single-stop connections to various European destinations, enhancing their travel experience.

For those planning their European adventures, here are the details for THAI’s daily roundtrip flights between Bangkok and Milan (Malpensa Airport):
- Flight TG940: Departs Bangkok at 12:40 AM (midnight) and arrives in Milan at 7:35 AM (local time).
- Flight TG941: Departs Milan at 2:05 PM (local time) and arrives in Bangkok at 5:55 AM.
Similarly, for those traveling between Bangkok and Oslo (Gardermoen Airport), THAI offers daily roundtrip flights:
- Flight TG954: Departs Bangkok at 12:55 AM (midnight) and arrives in Oslo at 7:25 AM (local time).
- Flight TG955: Departs Oslo at 2:15 PM (local time) and arrives in Bangkok at 6:15 AM.
