TAP Air Portugal has launched a new route connecting Lisbon to Florianópolis, Brazil. Flight TP109 landed at Hercílio Luz International Airport on Tuesday, marking the inaugural flight for this three-times-weekly service.
Luís Rodrigues, TAP’s President, was among the passengers on the inaugural flight. He expressed his confidence in prospects for the new service. “We are confident that this route will be highly popular with both Brazilian and European travelers. The strong demand since we opened sales is a testament to this.”
“Adding Florianópolis to our network aligns with the growing demand for flights between Portugal and southern Brazil, reinforcing our commitment to being the preferred European airline for Brazilians,” Rodrigues concluded.
Airbus A330 Operations
TAP operates flights to Florianópolis using Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which can accommodate 269 passengers (244 Economy and 25 Business). The flight duration is approximately 12 hours.
Flights between Lisbon and Florianópolis depart Lisbon on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between 10:10 and 10:50, arriving in Florianópolis between 17:15 and 17:55. Return flights depart Florianópolis between 19:35 and 20:40, arriving in Lisbon between 9:50 and 10:55 the following day.
Known as the “Island of Magic” and affectionately nicknamed Floripa, Florianópolis is a popular tourist destination renowned for its natural beauty, pristine beaches, rich history, and high quality of life.
Later this year, TAP will resume flights between Lisbon and Manaus, with a stop in Belém. This three-times-weekly service will begin on November 4th.
TAP Air Portugal offers direct flights from Lisbon to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis, and Manaus.
Additionally, TAP connects Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In total, TAP serves 13 cities in Brazil (15 routes from Lisbon and Porto).
