TAP Air Portugal and Avianca have opened a new shared facility in Miami. Miami International Airport (MIA) has elevated its passenger experience with the grand opening of the brand-new, shared business class lounge.

The newly opened lounge facility represents a collaboration between the carriers TAP Air Portugal and Avianca.

The 6,559-square-foot haven promises comfort, convenience, and a touch of international flair for travelers passing through the bustling South Terminal.

New MIA South Terminal Lounge

Located strategically near gate J4, the new lounge operates 24/7, catering to the needs of up to 337 passengers. This round-the-clock availability is a significant boon for travelers navigating the often-hectic schedules of international flights.

The lounge is designed to be a sanctuary, a place where passengers can unwind and prepare for their journey.

The lounge offers a diverse array of amenities, starting with a wide selection of food and snacks. Passengers can indulge in both hot and cold refreshments, alongside premium alcoholic beverages.

Modern restrooms equipped with showers allow for refreshing moments, while high-speed Wi-Fi keeps travelers connected.

Relaxation areas provide a tranquil space for unwinding, and dedicated workspaces cater to those needing to stay productive. A thoughtfully designed children’s play area ensures that even young travelers have a space to enjoy.

Miami-Dade Mayor Offers Congratulations

“Congratulations to our long-time partners at Avianca and TAP Air Portugal on the grand opening of their new lounge,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

“This new premium amenity is another big step in the airport-wide modernization of MIA, which aims at enhancing the travel experience, attracting global visitors, and strengthening Miami’s position as a premier international gateway.”

A Taste of Portugal in Miami

For TAP Air Portugal, this lounge marks a significant milestone. Sofia Lufinha, TAP’s Chief Customer Officer gave comment on the new facility.

“Our first-ever lounge to open outside of Portugal brings a little bit of Portugal to life in Miami,” she said.

Guests can savor authentic Portuguese culinary delights, including cheeses and the iconic pastéis de nata, paired with Portuguese red wine, vinho verde, and port wine. This focus on providing a unique, culturally rich experience underscores TAP’s commitment to passenger comfort.
