A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A321-200 operating a service to Paris made a precautionary return to Lisbon, Portugal after experiencing smoke in the cabin on 4 September 2024.
TAP Air Portugal flight TP430, operated by an Airbus A321-200, was bound for Paris Orly Airport (ORY). It had conducted a takeoff from RWY03 Lisbon airport (LIS).

During the initial climb procedure, flight crew reported the existence of smoke in the cabin. The climb was subsequently terminated and the aircraft made a direct return to the origin airport.
The flight landed without incident approximately 15 minutes after its initial departure.

Flight data shows that flight TP430 made its initial departure from Lisbon (LIS) at 0805 local time on 4 September.
Following the takeoff, flight crew then terminated the climb procedure at 7,500 feet before making a direct return to Lisbon Airport. A replacement aircraft was then mustered to complete the scheduled service to Paris.
The aircraft conducting the TP430 service to Paris was an Airbus A321-200, registered CS-TJH. This is a 20.1 year old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier TAP Air Portugal. It has been in operational service with the airline since May 2017.
Prior to its service with the present carrier it was operated by Iberia from its initial delivery from the factory in August 2004.
