An Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-900 operating from Seattle to Tampa, Florida diverted to Boise, Idaho after experiencing smoke in the cockpit whilst en route on 13 July 2024.
Alaska Airlines flight AS360, a Boeing 737-900 operating from Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) was en route to Tampa in cruising flight when the incident occurred.

Flight crew reported the presence of smoke in the cockpit during the cruise.
Oxygen masks were donned by the operating crew as a precautionary measure. The diversion was then initiated to nearby Boise Airport (BOI). Passenger oxygen masks were deployed in the cabin.
According to the Aviation Herald, the operating crew reported that smoke levels were increasing as they descended through flight level FL140 (14,000 feet).
The flight landed at Boise Airport (BOI) without further incident, approximately 35 minutes after the diversion was initiated.
The onwards AS360 service to Tampa International Airport (TIA) was subsequently cancelled.

Flight data shows that flight AS360 made an on-time departure out of Seattle (SEA) at 2127 local time on 13 July.
The flight then set course normally, climbing to flight level FL350 (35,000 feet) for the south-westerly route to Tampa (TIA).
The aircraft then diverted to Boise as the flight was crossing Idaho airspace. The descent and diversion was conducted under normal transponder code.
The aircraft conducting the AS360 service to you Tampa International Airport (TIA) was a Boeing 737-900ER, registered N215AK. This is a 5.3-year-old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the carrier Alaska Airlines.
It has been in operational service with the airline since its initial delivery in March 2019.
