Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) enjoyed a highly successful Easter 2025, excelling in both business and operational performance.
Over the four-day holiday from Good Friday to Easter Monday, the airline safely transported over 220,000 passengers to their destinations.
Alongside this, SWISS achieved an impressive on-time performance of 79%, marking a notable improvement of more than six percentage points compared to Easter 2024.
This achievement is even more remarkable given a nearly 9% surge in passenger numbers.
Easter Operational Performance
The Easter weekend, spanning April 18 to April 21, is one of the busiest travel periods of the year. During this time, SWISS operated approximately 1,700 flights, an increase of 100 flights compared to the previous year.
The airline’s punctuality, with 79% of flights departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled time, reflects a strong operational structure.
This performance keeps SWISS on track to meet its 2025 goal of 70% on-time departures. Additionally, the airline maintained a schedule stability of 97%, minimizing last-minute changes to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Targeted Preparations Pay Off
SWISS Chief Operating Officer Oliver Buchhofer attributes this success to meticulous planning. “We implemented several targeted measures on the ground and in the air to maintain stable operations, even under challenging conditions,” he explains.
“Improving punctuality while accommodating more passengers demonstrates the effectiveness of our preparations.”

Popular Destinations Draw Crowds
Travel demand was particularly strong for European city breaks, with destinations like London, Munich, and Berlin proving especially popular.
On long-haul routes, U.S. cities such as New York, Miami, and Chicago saw high demand, reflecting travelers’ enthusiasm for both short getaways and transatlantic adventures.
