UAE’s Sharjah Airport has expanded its international reach with the arrival of Saudi Arabian airline, flynas. The carrier’s inaugural flights mark a significant milestone for the airport, adding to its growing list of scheduled services.
This expansion aligns with Sharjah Airport Authority’s strategy to meet the increasing demand for air travel and cargo services.
The inaugural flight was welcomed by Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA). The group also included flynas representatives Sultan Al Khaldi, Syed Mazharuddin, and other officials.
flynas will now operate seven weekly flights from Jeddah to Sharjah and two weekly flights from Madinah. The airline will utilize its Boeing 737 aircraft for these routes.

He emphasized SAA’s commitment to expanding the airport’s infrastructure and services to accommodate future growth. The ongoing expansion project aims to increase capacity to 25 million passengers annually by 2027.
Al Midfa highlighted the positive impact of this expansion on Sharjah’s tourism sector. He noted the growing tourism and trade ties between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, driven by diverse attractions, international events, and strong economic relations.
