Sharjah’s H1 2024 Stats
During the first half, H1, of 2024, Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) in the UAE has handled 8.3 million passengers. This is a 12.4% growth compared to H1 2023.
The UAE airport also saw a 12.2% growth in aircraft movements, now totalling 52,702 for H1 2024.

Commenting on thei H1 2024 stats, Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA), says. “Sharjah Airport represents a dynamic and active gateway supporting economic, tourism, and business sectors in the Emirate.”
“This is due to the airport’s provision of a safe and seamless travel experience, adoption of the latest innovative technologies, adherence to environmental sustainability standards, and offering integrated and high-quality services that align with passengers’ desires and aspirations.”
Adding to this, Air Arabia Group Chief Executive Officer, Adel Al Ali, says. “We have already started placing two additional aircraft in Morocco, setting up two additional operating bases in the capital of Morocco, Rabat, which were not there before, and one in Diwan, north of Morocco.”
“We have also added an aircraft from our sister company, Fly Jinnah, in Pakistan. Added two more aircraft and expanded internationally, flying from UAE to Oman and Bahrain, with more destinations. Post-peak summer, we will explore new destinations for the winter.”
