Saudia Sees Record International Growth in 2024

Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, saw an exceptional year of growth in its international operations in 2024 with a 16% rise in international traffic.

The national airline of Saudi Arabia, Saudia, has marked an exceptional year of growth in its international operations according to its latest performance report.

The carrier witnessed a significant 16% increase in international passengers, serving 20 million guests through scheduled and additional flights in 2024. Transit passengers reached a new milestone of 9.3 million, showing an impressive 18% growth from the previous year.

These achievements align perfectly with Saudi Vision 2030’s ambitions in tourism, entertainment, sports, and religious pilgrimage services, while strengthening global connections to the Kingdom.

Saudia 2024 Performance


The airline’s total passenger count reached 35 million in 2024, marking a 15% increase from 2023. Saudia expanded its operations by running 193,000 flights, representing a 10% growth.

The carrier logged over 581,000 flight hours, an 8.5% increase, while improving its punctuality to 89.1%. Customer satisfaction showed positive trends, with the Net Promoter Score climbing to 32.7, reflecting a 4.5% improvement in guest experience and recommendation likelihood.

Saudia Group Director General, His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim Al-Omar, pointed out the airline’s proactive stance. “Success in aviation requires continuous adaptation. We remain dedicated to maintaining operational excellence while meeting international standards.”

“Our remarkable growth reflects our team’s commitment and our strategic fleet optimization to deliver superior service. We’ve made substantial progress in enhancing our guest experience and service quality.”

Digital Transformation

The airline’s digital transformation efforts yielded impressive results, with mobile app usage increasing by 40%. The integration of the Government Digital Wallet (GovClick) led to a remarkable 324% surge in digital service adoption.

These technological advancements have significantly streamlined the booking process and enhanced the overall customer journey, from ticket purchase to boarding.

Looking Forward


Saudia’s future plans include strengthening its operational capabilities during peak seasons through fleet expansion, increased seating capacity, and network growth.

Currently operating 147 aircraft, the airline plans to add 118 new planes in the coming years as part of its expansion strategy. The carrier has also announced plans to introduce new routes to emerging markets and increase frequency on existing popular routes to meet growing demand.
