Ryanair UK flight RK2584, which declared an emergency and diverted to Brest, is a routine scheduled flight between Las Palmas and Manchester.

The aircraft involved in this particular incident was G-RUKJ.

As per data from Planespotters.net, G-RUKJ is a 16 year old Boeing 737-800 that started out as EI-DYN, at the Irish subsidiary to the airline.

It was handed over to the UK subsidiary in February 2023.

Of the 737-800 variant, Ryanair UK has 15 Boeing 737-800s in the fleet.

Furthermore, of that 15, all of them are in active service, offering an average fleet age of 15.1 years.

Ryanair flight RK2584 departed Las Palmas at 2015 local time last night (May 13), and proceeded northbound to Manchester.

Over the Brest area, the aircraft initially descended early, before declaring an emergency during this.

The descent was rapid due to it’s close proximity to the French airport.

It is understood the aircraft landed safely without further incident following the emergency declaration.
