In the last few moments, Ryanair flight FR9811 bound for London Stansted from Barcelona has declared an emergency over French airspace.
Also, 9H-QET is the aircraft involved in the incident.

UPDATE #1 @ 1045 UK time – The aircraft has not commenced a descent as of yet.
UPDATE #2 @ 1050 UK time – Furthermore, FR9811, the Ryanair emergency, has begun it’s descent, presumably continuing on to Stansted.
EMERGENCY UPDATE #3 @ 1051 UK time – 9H-QET is the aircraft involved in the incident.
Moreover, as per Planespotters, 9H-QET is a 17.2 year old Boeing 737-800 that was delivered to the airline back in February 2008.
Furthermore, in November 2022, the aircraft was handed over to the Malta Air subsidiary, hence the registration change from EI-DWZ to 9H-QET.

UPDATE #4 @ 1055 UK time – Emergency Ryanair flight FR9811 is descending through FL200 and is inbetween Portsmouth and Brighton currently.
UPDATE #5 @ 1055 UK time – The aircraft has changed it’s squawk code from 7700 to 5346.
However, we will continue to monitor the aircraft until it’s arrival.


EMERGENCY UPDATE #6 @ 1100 UK time – The aircraft is continuing it’s descent to Stansted.

UPDATE #7 @ 1105 UK time – The aircraft is preparing for a downwind leg for a ILS approach Runway 22 into Stansted.
At this stage, the cause of the emergency is unknown.
With the squawk change, the emergency may be under control by the crew.

UPDATE #8 @ 1111 UK time – Aircraft on the base leg.

UPDATE #9 @ 1112 UK time – The Boeing 737-800 is on final.
Furthermore, landing is expected imminently.

UPDATE #10 @ 1116 UK time – TOUCHDOWN!
Ryanair Emergency FR9811 Barcelona-London has touched down safely.
Furthermore, at this stage, the reason for the emergency declaration is unknown.
As soon as we have more information, we will update you accordingly.
