A Ryanair flight en route from Corvera to Manchester has declared an emergency whilst approaching the destination.

Ryanair flight FR4117, a Boeing 737-8000 declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst on descent into Manchester.

Flight FR4117 declared the emergency whilst established in the early stages of descent to the destination Manchester Airport (MAN). Flight Emergency reported that a medical emergency onboard triggered the priority approach.

Weather for the flight’s arrival to Manchester is currently marginal VFR (MVFR) with visibility 10 kilometres or more and cloud base 2,700 feet. Runway 23L/23R is active for the arrival.

Flight crew expedited the decent and approach. Ryanair flight FR4117 is now landed and clear RWY 23R Manchester (MAN).

Flight data shows that flight FR4117 made its departure out of Corvera Murcia International Airport (CMU) at 12:11 local time today. The flight had then proceeded normally, climbing to flight level FL380 (38,000 feet) for the northerly service to the United Kingdom.

Flight crew declared an emergency with transponder code 7700 whilst on descent through FL240 at 13:17 local time. The flight then expedited the descent and approach to the destination airport.
