In the last few minutes, Ryanair flight FR1746 between Bergamo and Knock has declared an emergency near Cardiff.

FR1746 is descending following the emergency call, and looks to be heading in the direction of Dublin for a diversion.

About 9H-VVA – The Ryanair 737 MAX Involved in the Emergency on FR1746 Bergamo-Knock…

Also, 9H-VVA is believed to be the aircraft involved in this incident.

As per Planespotters, 9H-VVA is a 2.2 year old Boeing 737 MAX 8200 Gamechanger aircraft that was delivered to the Irish airline’s subsidiary Malta Air in June 2022.

Furthermore, of the 737 MAX 8200 variant, Malta Air has 43 units in the subsidiary’s fleet.

Moreover, all 43 are in active service, with an average fleet age of 2.4 years.

Dublin Airport has been confirmed as the diversion field for this emergency.

As per @Shauns_Aviation on X, it is understood FR1746 has suffered strong engine vibrations on Engine 1, the left hand one.

Ryanair flight FR1746, originally bound for Knock from Bergamo, is not far away from being on base leg into Dublin Airport for it’s emergency landing.

Furthermore, the aircraft is descending through FL90 at this present moment.

On Final…

FR1746 is now on final approach to the 28s at Dublin Airport. Furthermore, the Emergency landing expected imminently.
