A Ryanair Boeing 737-800 arriving from Kraków, Poland experienced a wing flap problem during its approach to Newcastle, UK on 12 October 2024.
Ryanair flight FR41, operated by a Buzz Boeing 737-800 had arrived in Newcastle from Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK).

The aircraft was given a clearance to land on runway 25 Newcastle Airport (NCL). During its final approach, flight crew reported experiencing problems with the aircraft’s wing flaps. As a result, a go around was conducted and the aircraft was then positioned for a second approach.
The aircraft was able to land without further incident following its second approach to runway 25. Emergency ground services vehicles attended the aircraft as a precaution.
The aircraft was able to vacate the active runway and taxied to the apron hardstanding area. According to the online source Aviation Herald, a ground observer noted that the aircraft still had its wing flaps and slats extended to a midway position.
The aircraft was able to perform the return service to Kraków approximately six hours later.

Flight data shows that flight FR451 had made an on-time departure from Kraków John Paul II International Airport. ATD was logged as 0551 local time on 12 October. The flight and then proceeded normally, climbing to flight level FL380 (38,000 feet) for the service to the United Kingdom.
Descent and arrival procedures were similarly conducted normally, and the technical problem was reported during the final approach to runway 25 Newcastle. The missed approach procedure was then conducted from approximately 1250 feet.
The aircraft conducting the FR41 service from Kraków was a Boeing 737-800, registered SP-RST. This is a 7.7 year old narrowbody aircraft operated by the subsidiary carrier Buzz. It has been operated by the airline since October 2019. Prior to its current deployment, it was operated by parent carrier Ryanair from its initial delivery from the factory in March 2017.
