Earlier this week, it has been revealed that Royal Jordanian is planning to deploy it’s Boeing 787 on certain rotations on it’s flights between Amman and Manchester.
Information, courtesy of AeroRoutes.com, details where exactly the airline is planning to do this.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
Royal Jordanian, The Boeing 787 & The Amman-Manchester Flights…
On certain days throughout the Winter season, Royal Jordanian will utilise the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on flights between Amman & Manchester, replacing the Airbus A320/A321 aircraft that normally services it.
Furthermore, below are the dates that the airline plans to use the Dreamliner on the specific route:
- 28th October
- 30th October
- November 11-December 9 – On Mondays.
- 25th December
- 15th January, 2025 – 5th February, 2025 – On Wednesdays.
- 8th February, 2025 – 19th March, 2025 – On Wednesdays & Saturdays.
Also, flight timings are expected to be the same by Royal Jordanian with the Boeing 787 utilisation on the flights between Amman and Manchester.
The existing schedule is currently as follows:
- RJ115 – Departs Amman at 1030 – Arrives into Manchester at 1330 local time.
- RJ116 – Departs Manchester at 1440 – Arrives back into Amman at 2300 local time.
Extra Demand Seen By The Airline On This Route?
The seating difference between the Airbus A320/A321 and the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with Royal Jordanian for the Amman-Manchester flights is as follows, courtesy of Planespotters.net.:
- Airbus A320
- Either:
- 12 in Business & 138 in Economy
- Or:
- All-Economy 180 seats.
- Or:
- 16 seats in Business & 120 in Economy.
- Either:
- Airbus A321
- 20 seats in Business & 148 in Economy.
- Boeing 787-8
- 24 seats in Business & 246 in Economy.
Ultimately, this means more seats in Business available to be booked as well as in Economy.
It is clear in this regard that Royal Jordanian is needing the Boeing 787 to operate the Amman-Manchester flights due to extra demand being received.
In conclusion, it will be interesting to see how this particular rotation will perform in term of load factors.
If they are seeing strong success with it, then there could be scope to operate the Dreamliner on more of the weekly flights they serve.
But for now, all we can do is wait and see what happens, as this is always subject to change as well.
