Royal Air Maroc, Morocco’s national carrier, has further enhanced its international connectivity by launching a new direct air route between Toronto and Casablanca on December 8, 2024.
This strategic expansion marks a milestone in the airline’s North American network and strengthens economic ties between Morocco and Canada.
The inaugural flights were met with clear enthusiasm, with the first departing from Toronto Pearson International Airport carrying more than 280 passengers.
Correspondingly, the first flight from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca recorded 204 passengers. This brings the total passenger count to 480 across the inaugural flights.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner Operations
The new route offers convenient scheduling, with flights operating three times per week – every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Passengers can expect comfortable travel aboard Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, known for their advanced technology and passenger comfort. The flight schedule is strategically timed to maximize traveler convenience:
- Casablanca to Toronto flights depart at 16:45 local time, arriving at 19:25 local time
- Toronto to Casablanca flights depart at 21:30 local time, arriving at 10:50 local time the following day
Connecting Moroccan and African Communities
This new connection will serve as a vital link for the growing Moroccan and African communities in Canada. It builds upon the historic Casablanca-Montréal air route, which has been operational since 1975, demonstrating Royal Air Maroc’s long-standing commitment to connecting Morocco with North America.
The launch of the Toronto route is part of a broader development plan agreed upon with the Moroccan government in July 2023.
This initiative aims to boost tourism and strengthen economic cooperation between Morocco and Canada. By providing direct air links, Royal Air Maroc facilitates easier business travel, cultural exchange, and tourism opportunities.
About Royal Air Maroc
Founded in 1957, Royal Air Maroc has evolved into a major international carrier with a rich history of connecting Morocco to the world.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, used on this route, represents a significant investment in passenger experience.
These aircraft offer improved fuel efficiency, larger windows, and enhanced cabin pressure, making long-haul flights more comfortable for travelers.
