Last weekend, a Royal Air Maroc Boeing 787 bound for New York u-turned to Casablanca with a problem onboard the aircraft.
Information has now been released pertinent to the incident at hand, which we will get into in this article.

Royal Air Maroc AT200 Casablanca to New York…
Royal Air Maroc flight AT200, which suffered the problem onboard, is a routine scheduled flight between Casablanca and New York JFK.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident was CN-RAM.
As per data from Planespotters.net, CN-RAM is a 5.7 year old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that was delivered to the airline in December 2018.
Moreover, of the 787-9 variant, Royal Air Maroc has four of them in their fleet.
Of that 4, all of them are in active service, with an average fleet age of 5.5 years.
As well as the 787-9, the Moroccan airline has the following other aircraft in their mainline fleet:
- 6 ATR 72s.
- 30 Boeing 737s.
- 1 Boeing 767s.
- 5 Boeing 787-8s.
- 4 Embraer E190s.
Royal Air Maroc flight AT200, which suffered the problem onboard, departed Casablanca at 1622 local time on August 23, and tracked west to New York.
Moreover, off the Moroccan coast, the aircraft made a u-turn.
After a hold, the aircraft descended straight back into Casablanca, where they landed safely without further incident at 1726 local time.
As per The Aviation Herald, it is understood that the cause was a cracked windshield.
The Boeing 787 Returned to Service The Next Day…
CN-RAM, the Royal Air Maroc Boeing 787 involved in the incident on AT200 Casablanca-New York was grounded overnight due to the cracked windshield.
Furthermore, the aircraft returned to commercial service the next evening via a flight to Montreal.
Since then, no further issues have been reported with the aircraft.
