A Royal Air Maroc Boeing 737-800 operating a service from Casablanca, Morocco to Monrovia, Liberia suffered a runway excursion on landing in Monrovia on 17 August 2024.
Royal Air Maroc flight AT567, a Boeing 737-800 was inbound from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN).
The aircraft made a normal approach to RWY04 Monrovia Roberts International Airport (ROB). During the landing roll after touchdown, the aircraft reportedly veered to the left. This resulted in an excursion of the runway edge.

Following the runway excursion the aircraft was then returned to the runway centreline and the aircraft slowed to a stop. At the completion of the landing roll, the aircraft then vacated the active runway. It was able to taxi to the apron hardstanding area normally.
According to the Aviation Herald, the aircraft suffered substantial damage as a result of the runway excursion. As a result, it was unable to continue with its flight scheduling. Accordingly, the scheduled return service to Casablanca was cancelled.
The landing incident will now be the subject of two investigations by the Liberian Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA), an Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB).

Flight data shows that flight AT567 made an on-time departure from Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport at 0135 local time on 17 August.
The flight had then proceeded normally, climbing to flight level FL380 (38,000 feet) for the southerly route to Liberia.
Descent and approach procedures were similarly conducted normally, with the aircraft losing directional control momentarily during the subsequent landing roll on runway 04.
The aircraft conducting the AT567 service from Casablanca was a Boeing 737-800, registered CN-RGW. This is 7.6-year-old narrowbody aircraft belonging to the national carrier Royal Air Maroc. It has been in operational service with the airline since December 2023.
Prior to its service with the airline, it passed through the hands of Southwind Airlines and Oman Air following its initial delivery in January 2017.
