C&L Aerospace, a subsidiary of the C&L Aviation Group, has announced the acquisition of a substantial inventory of Boeing 737NG parts from Rex Airlines. The Australian regional airline recently entered voluntary administration. This forced the airline to ground its domestic jet fleet, leading to the availability of its valuable assets for sale.
The acquired inventory includes a diverse range of spare parts and components. This includes CFM56-7 engines, auxiliary power units, landing gear assemblies, and other rotable components and spare parts.
These items were originally purchased by Rex to support its fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft. However, with the airline’s domestic jet operations now suspended, they have become surplus to requirements.
Spares and Components Assets
C&L Aerospace, known for its extensive experience in the aviation industry, has a longstanding relationship with Rex Airlines. This connection made it the ideal choice to handle the disposal of the airline’s assets.
Chris Kilgour, CEO of C&L Aviation Group, expressed satisfaction with the opportunity for acquisition. “Given our deep roots in Australia, C&L was the natural choice to assist Rex in this process. With over 5,000 active 737NG aircraft flying worldwide, the demand for these parts is substantial.”
The acquired inventory comprises over 100,000 individual components. With pent-up demand for air travel continuing, these become a valuable asset for the global aviation industry.
Dispersal to Aftermarket Industry
C&L Aerospace will be marketing the Boeing 737-800 inventory through its global sales network and making them available for purchase from its warehouse in Bangor, Maine. The parts will be listed on popular online platforms such as ILS, PartsBase, and Aeroxchange, allowing for direct sales to operators globally.
The acquisition of Rex Airlines’ inventory also furthers C&L Aerospace’s position as a leading player in the aviation industry.
By acquiring these assets, the company is not only expanding its inventory but plays a leading hand in the support of the rotables and components aftermarket.
As the aviation industry continues to recover from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the availability of these parts will be crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of 737NG fleets.
