It recognized airlines and airports that demonstrated exceptional punctuality and operational efficiency throughout the year.

Aeromexico Takes Flight as Global Leader


In a resounding achievement, Aeromexico claimed the coveted title of the most on-time global airline in 2024, achieving an impressive on-time performance rate of 86.70%. This remarkable feat underscores Aeromexico’s commitment to delivering reliable and punctual service to its passengers.

Closely trailing Aeromexico were Saudia and Delta Air Lines, further solidifying their positions as industry leaders in operational excellence.

Regional Leaders Across the Globe

The 2024 review highlighted regional champions across the globe. Iberia Express, a member of the International Airlines Group, distinguished itself as both the most on-time airline in Europe and the most on-time low-cost carrier globally.

In the dynamic Asia-Pacific region, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways emerged as frontrunners in on-time performance.

Delta Air Lines continued its reign as the most on-time airline in North America, while Copa Airlines achieved a remarkable milestone, securing its tenth consecutive victory as the most on-time airline in Latin America.

In the Middle East and Africa, Safair Airlines was recognized for its outstanding on-time performance record.

Riyadh King Khalid International Airport is Global Leader


In the airport category, Riyadh King Khalid International Airport, the gateway to Saudi Arabia’s capital, ascended to the pinnacle, claiming the title of the most on-time global airport.

This prestigious recognition further solidified the airport’s position as a leading hub for air travel. In the “Large Airport” category, Riyadh King Khalid International Airport once again emerged victorious, outperforming major airports worldwide.

Panama’s Tocumen International Airport and Ecuador’s Guayaquil Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport were awarded “Medium Airport” and “Small Airport” honors, respectively, for their exceptional on-time performance.

Cirium Platinum Awards

Delta Air Lines achieved a remarkable feat, receiving the prestigious Cirium Platinum Award for global operational excellence for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year.

This esteemed award recognizes Delta’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence, and considered several factors. This included network complexity, flight volume, and the airline’s remarkable ability to minimize the impact of flight disruptions on passengers throughout the year.

In a groundbreaking move, Cirium introduced the Platinum Award for airports, recognizing El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, Colombia, as the inaugural recipient. This prestigious award evaluates a comprehensive range of factors, including passenger impact, disruption duration, operational complexity, and the airport’s overall appeal, with a particular focus on growth.

By recognizing excellence across multiple dimensions, the Platinum Award sets a new benchmark for airport performance evaluation.
