IndiGo Takes More Norse Boeing 787s…

IndiGo and Norse Atlantic Airways have entered into a wet lease agreement for two more Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
This completes the scope of the initial letter of intent signed back in November 2024.
These additional two aircraft will serve the Indian carrier from early 2026.
IndiGo, through the assistance of Norse Atlantic Airways, have been operating long-haul flights using the 787.
Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO and founder of Norse Atlantic Airways, had this to say:
“This agreement represents an important milestone in our collaboration with IndiGo and reinforces our partnership with one of the world’s leading airlines.”
“The wet lease agreement with a total of six aircraft means that we further strengthen our strategic and financial position in a volatile market”.

China Airlines Orders More Boeing 777Xs…

China Airlines today also made a top-up order for the Boeing 777X aircraft.
An additional 10 777-9X passenger variant and four 777-8X freighter variant aircraft have been ordered.
This is in addition to a firm order made back in March for five -9s and four -8s. as well.
“As a long-time operator of the 777-300ER and 777 Freighter, we are excited to welcome Boeing’s newest 777X family into our world-class fleet,” said Kao Shing-Hwang, chairman of China Airlines.
“The advanced technology and features of the 777-9 will provide our customers with the best-in-class flying experience, while the 777-8 Freighter’s range and fuel-efficiency will enable us to maintain a leadership position in air cargo.”
“This is a significant investment toward our future, and we will rely on the new 777X family to help realize our long-term sustainability goals.”

Emirates Is In Mega Profit…

Emirates today released it’s annual report, which highlighted it’s biggest profitable spell in the airline’s history.
For the financial year that ended on March 31, the airline reported the following:
- Record profit before tax of AED 21.2 billion (US$ 5.8 billion), up 20% from last year
- Record revenue of AED 127.9 billion (US$ 34.9 billion), an increase of 6% over last year
- Highest-ever level of cash assets at AED 49.7 billion (US$ 13.5 billion), 16% higher compared to 31 March 2024.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group said:
“It is no accident that Dubai has produced hugely successful global aviation entities including Emirates and dnata.”
“Dubai’s aviation sector has become an influential force on the global stage thanks to visionary leaders, strategic planning, co-ordinated execution, and strong support from our customers, business partners, and all the people of Dubai.”
