Qatar Airways is now preparing to commence an industry-first fleet-wide upgrade of its Airbus A350 aircraft to include Starlink’s high-speed internet service.

Commencing this month, it will further enhance the airline’s already impressive in-flight Wi-Fi experience, providing passengers with unparalleled connectivity in the skies.

This ambitious project follows Qatar Airways’ rapid rollout in equipping its Boeing 777 fleet with Starlink.

Qatar Airways currently operates the world’s largest fleet of Starlink-enabled Boeing 777s, having successfully completed over 6,000 flights across its extensive network of more than 170 destinations.

The airline is nearing completion of this Boeing 777 fleet-wide upgrade. It has ably demonstrated an ability to execute one of the fastest and most comprehensive Starlink installations within the aviation sector.

Now, Qatar Airways is poised to break new ground by becoming the first airline globally to introduce Starlink’s cutting-edge connectivity to its Airbus A350 fleet.

This strategic expansion builds upon the positive feedback and seamless connectivity experienced by passengers on the Starlink-equipped Boeing 777s.

Soon, even more travelers flying on Qatar Airways will be able to enjoy fully complimentary, ultra-fast Wi-Fi, enabling them to effortlessly stream their favorite content, engage in online gaming, and work seamlessly from 35,000 feet.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, commented on the current upgrade progress. “We are just a few aircraft away from completing a full fleet-wide upgrade of our Boeing 777s with Starlink connectivity. This is an industry-first for a widebody fleet of this scale.”

“In April, we will proudly become the first airline in the world to begin equipping the Airbus A350 with Starlink. It marks another significant stride in our ongoing journey to redefine connectivity in the skies.”

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to continuously enhance our onboard Wi-Fi experience. This ensures that our passengers enjoy greater comfort, convenience, and the exceptional service they have come to expect from Qatar Airways.”

Near Completion of B777 Upgrade Program

Over 80 percent of its Boeing 777 fleet is already equipped with Starlink. Qatar Airways has operated more than 6,000 global flights offering unparalleled and the fastest gate-to-gate internet Wi-Fi connectivity.

This level of performance remains unmatched by any other airline in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It further solidifies Qatar Airways’ position as a leader in in-flight technology.

The decision to upgrade the Airbus A350 fleet underscores Qatar Airways’ continuous investment in elevating the passenger experience. Travelers especially value reliable and high-speed internet on those strategic long-haul journeys.

The Airbus A350 is a next-generation aircraft that forms a crucial part of Qatar Airways’ modern and efficient fleet.

Conclusion

Qatar Airways is now planning the Starlink installations on its Airbus A350 aircraft. The airline will execute the program to ensure minimal disruption to its flight schedules.
