Qatar Airways marked a new chapter on June 2nd, 2024, with the inaugural flight of its non-stop service to Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
This exciting addition strengthens Qatar Airways’ ambitious network expansion program. Passengers can now enjoy seamless connectivity to Tashkent via Hamad International Airport (DOH).
The airport was also recently crowned “World’s Best Airport” by Skytrax.
Central Asia Network Expansion
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer spoke n the service inauguration. “We are thrilled to introduce Tashkent, the cultural and economic heart of Uzbekistan, to our ever-growing network,” he said.
“This new route reflects our commitment to expanding our global reach in Central Asia and offering travelers more options.”
“We look forward to fostering stronger ties between Qatar and Uzbekistan through enhanced connectivity and cultural exchange.”
Mr. Mohamed Faleh Al Hajri, Acting President of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), echoed these sentiments. He congratulated Qatar Airways and highlighting the importance of this new route.
“This development strengthens bilateral relations between Qatar and Uzbekistan,” he said.” It boosts economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation while showcasing the aviation sector’s role in economic growth.”
Tashkent: A Gateway to History and Adventure
Tashkent, a historic gateway on the famed Silk Road, boasts breathtaking natural beauty and unique architecture.
Its inclusion in Qatar Airways’ extensive network, connecting to over 170 destinations, allows millions of passengers to explore Uzbekistan’s rich history and vibrant culture.
