Starting in June 2025, Qatar Airways will enhance its flight offerings to two major cities in the Americas: Toronto, Canada, and São Paulo, Brazil.

This expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to meeting growing travel demand.

It provides seamless global connections through its hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha, recently named the World’s Best Airport Shopping by Skytrax in 2025.

Increased Flights to Toronto

Qatar Airways will launch five weekly flights to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) on June 19, 2025. The airline originally began serving Toronto in December 2024.

It now plans to increase to daily flights this winter to offer Canadian travelers more options for connecting to destinations across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Summer Schedule (June 19, 2025 onward)

Flights will operate every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday:

  • Doha (DOH) to Toronto (YYZ) – Flight QR767: Departs 08:10, Arrives 15:00
  • Toronto (YYZ) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR768: Departs 21:00, Arrives 16:40

Winter Schedule (Daily Flights)

  • Doha (DOH) to Toronto (YYZ) – Flight QR767: Departs 08:25, Arrives 14:40
  • Toronto (YYZ) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR768: Departs 20:10, Arrives 16:55

Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, shared, “Our Toronto service, launched less than six months ago, has been met with strong demand. We’re excited to add more flights to deliver our award-winning travel experience to even more passengers.”

Expanded Service to São Paulo

From June 25, 2025, Qatar Airways will increase its São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) flights from 14 to 17 per week.

This boost offers greater flexibility for travelers from the Far East, Middle East, and Australia heading to South America’s vibrant business and cultural hub.

Additional Flights (Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays)

  • Doha (DOH) to São Paulo (GRU) – Flight QR785: Departs 00:10, Arrives 09:00
  • São Paulo (GRU) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR786: Departs 10:30, Arrives 06:45

The expanded schedule makes it easier to explore São Paulo’s lively winter season or connect to 55 Latin American destinations. These include Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Lima, and Santiago, through Qatar Airways’ partner, LATAM Airlines.

Conclusion

These new flights highlight Qatar Airways’ focus on strengthening its presence in the Americas. “São Paulo is a key gateway for both business and leisure travelers,” Antinori noted.

“By increasing flights, we’re ensuring more convenient access to this dynamic region.”

CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer noted strong US demand continuing into May and June, contrasting with the downward trends reported by some competing U.S. carriers.

This resilience is attributed to Qatar Airways’ premium service, strategic scheduling, and connectivity through its Doha hub.

However, the airline has scaled back planned frequency increases to Los Angeles and New York for summer 2025. It is maintaining a daily service to Los Angeles and 19 weekly flights to New York JFK, suggesting a cautious approach to capacity despite strong demand.
