Porter Airlines Launches New Winter Routes to Las Vegas from Eastern Canada

Porter Airlines is introducing two new seasonal winter routes from Ottawa and Montreal, connecting Eastern Canada to the city of Las Vegas.

Porter Airlines is introducing two new seasonal winter routes connecting Eastern Canada to the dazzling city of Las Vegas.

These routes cater to the growing demand for trips to the world’s entertainment capital. They offer further options for Canadians seeking sun, excitement, and world-class entertainment during the colder months.

New Route Details

Starting November 1, Porter will offer nonstop flights between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) four times a week.

The Las Vegas-Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) service kicks off on November 2, operating three times weekly.

Notably, Porter will be the sole airline flying the Ottawa-Las Vegas route, providing a unique travel opportunity for residents of Canada’s capital region.

These new services complement Porter’s existing twice-daily Las Vegas flights from Toronto-Pearson Airport, further strengthening the airline’s presence in the popular Nevada destination.

The Porter Experience

Travelers can look forward to Porter’s signature hospitality on these new routes. The airline is known for its premium in-flight service. This includes complimentary beer and wine served in real glassware, as well as high-quality snacks – a cut above the typical economy class offering.

For those seeking an even more luxurious experience, PorterReserve fares are available. This all-inclusive option offers fresh, healthy meals, pre-mixed cocktails, priority check-in, early boarding.

Extra legroom, two checked bags, and the ability to change flights without fees makes it a very attractive option.

Convenient Connections

Beyond Las Vegas, convenient connections are available through Porter and its partner network. This includes Alaska Airlines flights for those looking to explore the Western U.S. via Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Porter’s extensive Eastern Canada network provides multiple options through Ottawa and Montreal.

For those with their sights set beyond North America, transatlantic itineraries are also available through a partnership with Air Transat via Montreal-Trudeau airport.

About Porter Airlines

Porter Airlines has been revolutionizing short-haul flying since its inception in 2006. Headquartered at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, Porter has built a reputation for refined, comfortable air travel at competitive prices.

The airline operates a fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, known for their comfort and efficiency.

Porter’s route network covers destinations across Canada and the United States, with a focus on providing a superior travel experience on shorter routes.

Porter’s business model centers on offering a high-quality service at competitive prices, challenging the notion that comfort and affordability are mutually exclusive in air travel.

Stakeholder Perspectives

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, emphasizes the airline’s commitment to passenger satisfaction.

“We’re dedicated to providing Ottawa and Montréal passengers with convenient, comfortable travel options. These new Las Vegas routes reflect our commitment to meeting passenger demand and delivering top-notch service across our growing network.”

The new routes have been welcomed by airport authorities as well. Joel Tkach, VP of Business Development and Marketing at Ottawa International Airport Authority, expresses enthusiasm.

“We’re thrilled that Porter is expanding its network from Ottawa to the Western U.S. More destinations and refined flying options are great news for our community.”

Similarly, Karl Brochu, VP of Airport Operations and Air Services Development at Aéroports de Montréal, sees the expansion as a positive development.

“We’re excited about Porter adding Las Vegas to YUL’s destinations. It’s a new gateway to Nevada’s entertainment capital, and we’re pleased to support Porter’s expansion to meet diverse traveler needs.”

The Las Vegas tourism industry is also optimistic about the new routes. Steve Hill, CEO and President of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, notes the importance of the Canadian market.

“We’re grateful for our partnership with Porter Airlines and their efforts to provide more direct routes to Vegas from Canada, our top international visitor source.”

“In 2023, we welcomed 1.4 million Canadians, and these new flights from Montreal and Ottawa will help even more travelers experience Vegas firsthand.”
