Economic and Tourism Benefits

The launch of Porter Airlines’ Phoenix route is expected to have a positive impact on both the Canadian and Arizona economies. By increasing tourism and trade, the new service will create jobs and generate revenue for businesses in both regions.

“Canada is Arizona’s number one international investor and number two destination for exports, and $3.8 billion worth of annual two-way trade,” said Zaib Shaikh, Consul General of Canada in Los Angeles.

“This route will support the more than 1 million people that travel between Canada and Arizona every year for business, tourism, academic and cultural collaboration, along with visits to family and friends.”

In addition to its economic benefits, Porter Airlines’ Phoenix route also offers travelers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Arizona. From the iconic Grand Canyon to the vibrant city of Scottsdale, there is something for everyone to enjoy in this sun-soaked state.

Lisa Urias, director, Arizona Office of Tourism offered further comments. “With over 300 sunny days a year and average winter temperatures in the 70s. Our state offers the perfect escape for Canadian travelers seeking warmth and adventure.”
