Porter Airlines has this week inaugurated new flights between Toronto Pearson Airport and Quebec City.
Furthermore, this new route complements existing services from Billy Bishop Airport.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
The New Toronto Pearson-Quebec City Flights…
Porter Airlines inaugurated the new flights between Toronto Pearson and Quebec City on May 17.
Also, it is understood these flights will operate on a seasonal basis until October 26, running on a daily basis.
Their flagship Embraer E195-E2 aircraft will be used for this route.
Furthermore, it complements the existing services already in place from Billy Bishop Airport where the Dash 8 is used.
Kevin Jackson, the President of Porter Airlines had this to say on the new flights from Toronto to Quebec City:
“Québec City is a popular destination for travellers, with its rich history and culture.”
“Porter’s new service adds more capacity on a busy seasonal route, and more opportunities for passengers to enjoy the elevated economy experience they deserve.”
Adding to this was Stéphane Poirier, president and CEO of YQB:
“We are delighted that Porter Airlines is increasing its service from YQB with a new daily flight to Toronto Pearson Airport.”
“The expanded service to the Canadian metropolis will undoubtedly appeal to the population of the Greater Québec City area, and facilitate connectivity to popular destinations in Western Canada and the United States.”
“We salute Porter’s commitment, which testifies to the attractiveness and dynamism of our magnificent region.”
A Strong First Half of the Year for the Airline…
This news from Porter Airlines highlights the strong first half of the year they have had.
Over the last five months, they have achieved the following:
- Connected Montreal with Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.
- Announced the launch of Ottawa-Winnipeg flights.
- Inaugurate daily Toronto-Los Angeles flights.
- Established three new crew bases in Ottawa, Vancouver & Montreal.
- Launched flights to Las Vegas.
- Addition of Los Angeles & San Francisco from Montreal.
- Signed a new partnership with Fiji Airways.
From that list alone, you can see exactly what Porter Airlines has been up to, and is reflective of the successes over the last 12 months.
Overall…
In conclusion, Porter Airlines continues to grow at a strong rate, with the new Toronto-Quebec City flights an example of that.
As you have seen above, the airline has achieved so much in 2024, and we aren’t even at the halfway point yet.
Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how the airline performs over the busy Summer 2024 season.
But for now, the path is up for the Canadian carrier as any market is fair game to them currently.
