Porter Airlines is bringing more travel options to New York with new daily flights to LaGuardia Airport (LGA), marking a significant expansion of its U.S. operations.

Beginning May 1, 2025, travelers can choose from up to three daily round-trips between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and New York LaGuardia. The service terminates at the newly transformed Terminal B, offering greater flexibility for both business and leisure travelers.

LaGuardia Terminal B

The stunning Terminal B, following its recent $5.1 billion US renovation, will serve as Porter’s LaGuardia home base.

The terminal’s modern design and state-of-the-art facilities represent a major upgrade in the passenger experience. It features spacious waiting areas, enhanced security checkpoints, and an impressive array of dining and shopping options.

Through Toronto Pearson, passengers can easily connect to a comprehensive network of major Canadian cities. These include Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax.

This extensive domestic network makes Porter’s LaGuardia service particularly valuable for business travelers and tourists seeking convenient access to destinations across Canada.

Additionally, thanks to Porter’s strategic partnership with JetBlue, travelers can access numerous destinations across the southern United States through LaGuardia, creating a seamless travel experience for passengers heading to popular sunshine destinations.

Embraer E195-E2 Operations

The airline’s commitment to passenger comfort is evident in its choice of aircraft for the route. Travelers will fly on Porter’s modern Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, featuring 132 seats configured without middle seats for enhanced comfort and personal space.

Every flight includes complimentary high-speed WiFi, allowing passengers to stay connected throughout their journey. The airline’s signature service includes premium snacks and complimentary beer and wine served in real glassware, elevating the in-flight experience above typical economy service.

Passengers can choose between two fare options to suit their needs. PorterClassic fares offer a competitive base price with the flexibility to add à la carte options. The all-inclusive PorterReserve fares feature priority check-in, extra legroom seating, and flexible booking options for a more premium experience.

Porter Airlines New York Presence

This expansion builds on Porter Airlines strong presence in the New York area, which began in 2008 with flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ).

The airline further strengthened its position by adding Ottawa-Newark service in 2023. With the addition of the new LaGuardia route, Porter will operate up to 15 daily round-trips between Canada and the New York metropolitan area, offering unparalleled connectivity between the two countries.

Andrew Pierce, Porter Airlines’ vice president of network planning and reporting, commented on the importance of this expansion. “Over 15 years, we’ve established a robust passenger base between Canada and New York. Adding LaGuardia creates new possibilities for current customers while attracting new travelers in this crucial Canada-U.S. corridor.”

LaGuardia Gateway Partners’ CEO Suzette Noble highlights the terminal’s readiness. “Porter Airlines shares our dedication to exceptional customer service. We’re eager to showcase Terminal B’s modern amenities to Toronto travelers.”

Tony Vero, LaGuardia Airport’s general manager, underscores the broader impact. “This service strengthens our network and offers seamless connections between New York and Canada. Combined with LaGuardia’s transformation, we’re delivering a superior travel experience with greater flexibility and enhanced connectivity.”
