Porter Airlines continues to strengthen its position in North American aviation with a new sale and leaseback agreement for two Embraer E195-E2 aircraft through GOAL Aircraft Leasing.

This strategic move marks another step in Porter’s ambitious fleet expansion and modernization program.

The Toronto-based carrier has been transforming its operations since its founding in 2006. The airline is known for its distinctive approach to air travel, including complimentary in-flight service.

Operating primarily from Toronto’s convenient Billy Bishop Airport, Porter has been steadily expanding its reach across North America.

Two Additional Leased E195-E2 Aircraft

The latest agreement with GOAL Aircraft Leasing further bolsters Porter’s jet fleet. The airline will operate the two E195-E2 aircraft under long-term lease agreements, allowing it to optimize capital allocation. The additional Embraer E195-E2 aircraft represent a significant upgrade to Porter’s fleet capabilities.

Julian Low, Vice President of Corporate Development at Porter Airlines, emphasizes the aircraft’s importance to their expansion strategy.

“The Embraer E195-E2 is an exceptional aircraft and it is driving the growth of our network across North America. There continues to be strong interest from the leasing community in the E195-E2 and we look forward to working with GOAL over the long term.”

The relationship between Porter and GOAL extends beyond this recent transaction. The parties have also concluded a finance lease agreement for three Dash 8-400 aircraft.

This signals the growing partnership between the two organizations. These aircraft additions support Porter’s comprehensive network strategy, which includes both regional and longer-haul routes.

Christian Schloemann, Managing Director of GOAL, gave his comments on the deepening partnership.

“We are excited to deepen our relationship with Porter Airlines and demonstrate our ability to offer flexible and competitive leasing solutions for cutting-edge aircraft like the Embraer E195-E2. We are proud to support Porter Airlines in expanding their fleet and strengthening their position as a leading airline in North America.”

Porter Airlines Growth Trajectory Continues

The new E195-E2 aircraft will enable Porter to serve longer routes while maintaining its commitment to passenger comfort and service excellence.

This aircraft type offers improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced passenger comfort compared to previous generation regional jets. The acquisition aligns with Porter’s strategy to provide an elevated travel experience while expanding its route network.

Porter’s fleet of Embraer E195-E2 and De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft currently serves a North American network from Eastern Canada.

This fleet expansion sees the continuation of Porter Airlines’ growth trajectory. It further reinforces Porter Airlines position as an innovative force in North American aviation.
