LONDON – According to Rosaviatsia, the Chinese government is refusing to provide aircraft parts to Russian carriers in the wake of the Ukraine crisis.
China now joins India and Turkey in rejecting requests to provide such maintenance support, putting more of a tighter squeeze on the Russians in terms of sanctions.
Such news was confirmed by Valery Kudinov, the head of the Airworthiness Maintenance Department of the Federal Air Transport Agency in Russia during a conference on aircraft maintenance.
It is understood also that the Russians are looking to re-register Irish-leased aircraft, with some due to being returned to lessors.
This is a developing story.
