Last weekend, reports have been released pertinent to a pilot fainting in-flight on easyJet flight U22459 between London Luton & Lisbon.
Details have emerged about what had happened onboard, which we will get into in this article.

Pilot Faints!: easyJet Flight U22459 – London Luton to Lisbon…
easyJet flight U22459, where the pilot fainted, is a routine scheduled flight between London Luton & Lisbon.
Furthermore, it is understood the aircraft involved in the incident was G-EZOA.
As per data from Planespotters.net, G-EZOA is a 9.7 year old Airbus A320ceo that was delivered to the airline in December 2014.
Of the Airbus A320ceo variant, easyJet has 81 of them in their UK subsidiary.
Moreover, of that 81, all but one are in active service, with an average fleet age of 11.6 years.
As well as the A320ceo, the U2 UK subsidiary has the following other aircraft in their fleet:
- 47 Airbus A319s.
- 45 Airbus A320neos.
- 10 Airbus A321neos.
easyJet flight U22459 departed London Luton at 0741 local time on July 27, and tracked south towards Lisbon.
As per The Aviation Herald, it is understood the first officer fainted when the aircraft was nearing their destination.
From there, the captain managed to assist and get the aircraft down for a safe landing, which took place at 1010 local time.
Emergency Services Met The Aircraft on Arrival…
The aviation safety outlet reports that emergency crews met the aircraft operating easyJet flight U22459 from London Luton on arrival into Lisbon.
Furthermore, it is understood the first officer was taken to hospital to be checked over.
No additional information on the pilot has been released at this point.
In a statement, the airline said the following on this:
“easyJet can confirm that the flight EZY2459 from Luton to Lisbon was met by the paramedics upon landing due to a pilot member feeling unwell.
“The Captain landed the flight routinely in line with procedures and passengers disembarked normally. At no point was the safety of the flight compromised.
“The safety and welfare of passengers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority.”
