Pegasus Airlines Places Landmark Order for up to 200 Boeing 737 MAX 10 Aircraft

Pegasus Airlines has placed a landmark order for 100 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft to be delivered from 2028, with options for 100 more.

Pegasus Airlines, known for operating Türkiye’s youngest aircraft fleet, has signed a major agreement with Boeing for 200 new aircraft.

The deal includes a firm order for 100 Boeing 737-10 planes to be delivered from 2028, with options for 100 more. Based on Boeing’s current list prices, the total contract value reaches approximately 36 billion USD, marking the largest investment in the airline’s history.

Meeting 2050 Growth Strategy


This record-breaking investment aligns with Pegasus Airlines’ ambition to become a global aviation leader. The airline, which already maintains one of the world’s youngest fleets with an average age of 4.5 years.

It sees this expansion as crucial for both growth and sustainability goals through 2050. The agreement also strengthens existing partnerships within the aviation sector while opening doors for new collaborations both domestically and internationally.

Commenting on the historic agreement, Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk emphasized the airline’s role in Türkiye’s booming tourism sector.

“We’re committed to helping Türkiye reach its ambitious targets of 100 million visitors and 100 billion USD in tourism revenue. This fleet expansion supports our growth plans both domestically and internationally.”

Deliveries from 2028


Öztürk explained that the new aircraft will start joining their fleet in 2028, with the possibility of converting the additional 100 options into firm orders based on future market conditions. “Boeing has been part of our journey since 1990.”

“This new partnership will boost local manufacturing, technology transfer, research and development, training, and employment opportunities in Turkish aviation. It perfectly complements Boeing’s National Aerospace Initiative with the Turkish government, launched in 2017, creating new production and export possibilities for Turkish manufacturers.”

737 MAX 10 Enhanced Efficiency


The Boeing 737-10, as the largest aircraft in the 737 MAX family, brings significant advantages for short and medium-haul routes. Its CFM International LEAP-1B engines deliver 20% better fuel efficiency compared to older models.

Passengers will enjoy more comfortable travel thanks to the spacious cabin, which can accommodate up to 230 travelers, and larger overhead storage compartments.

The strategic investment demonstrates Pegasus Airlines’ commitment to sustainable growth and operational excellence.

By choosing the fuel-efficient Boeing 737-10, the airline reinforces its dedication to reducing environmental impact while meeting increasing travel demands. The expanded fleet will enable Pegasus to serve more destinations and provide enhanced connectivity for its passengers.
