In the last few moments, Pakistan International Airlines flight PK212 bound for Islamabad from Dubai has declared an emergency.
AP-BOM is understood to be the aircraft involved in the incident.

UPDATE #1 @ 1822 UK time – The aircraft appears to be diverting to Karachi following a route deviation.
About The Aircraft!: UPDATE #2 @ 1827 UK time – AP-BOM is understood to be the aircraft involved in the emergency.
As per Planespotters, AP-BOM is a 12.1 year old Airbus A320ceo that started out life with MEA as F-OMRC/T7-MRC in April 2014.
Furthermore, GECAS took control of the aircraft in November 2020, and was then sent to AerCap in November 2021.
July 2022 was when Pakistan International Airlines (PIA/PK) took delivery of the aircraft.
UPDATE #3 @ 1830 UK time – Pakistan International Airlines flight PK212, originally bound for Islamabad from Dubai is descending into Karachi now following the emergency declaration.
UPDATE #4 @ 1835 UK time – The aircraft is passing through FL140 and is nearing the diversion field of Karachi.
Base Leg!: UPDATE #5 @ 1841 UK time – The aircraft is approaching the base leg portion of the approach into Karachi.
Furthermore, it is unclear what the reason for the emergency and subsequent diversion is at this present time.
UPDATE #6 @ 1844 UK time – PK212 is now on final approach into Karachi, emergency landing imminent.
UPDATE #7 @ 1850 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! Pakistan International Airlines flight PK212 from Dubai to Islamabad has appeared to have touched down safely into Karachi following the emergency declaration.
At this stage, the reason for the emergency is not yet known.
As soon as we have more information, then we will update you accordingly.
