oneworld Alliance Welcomes Fiji Airways as Newest Member Airline

Effective from 1 April, Fiji and South Pacific flag carrier Fiji Airways has become the 14th member airline of the oneworld® alliance.

The oneworld® alliance is set to welcome Fiji Airways, the flag carrier of Fiji and the South Pacific, as its newest full member airline.

This inclusion is effective from April 1, 2025, promising enhanced travel experiences for customers worldwide. The alliance offers a suite of premium benefits and expanded global reach.

The Fiji national carrier becomes the 14th airline operating under the oneworld alliance banner.

This airline move marks a pivotal moment for both Fiji Airways and the oneworld alliance. By joining the alliance, Fiji Airways will provide its top-tier customers with access to a comprehensive range of oneworld benefits.

These benefits include access to nearly 700 airport lounges globally. This includes the recently opened oneworld branded lounges at Amsterdam’s Schiphol and Seoul’s Incheon airports.

Passengers will also enjoy priority check-in and boarding, and the ability to earn and redeem miles. It allows for the accrual of tier points, ensuring a seamless and rewarding journey.  

“The introduction of Fiji Airways is a crucial strategic step for our alliance,” stated Nat Pieper, CEO of oneworld. “We are expanding our network, connecting more people, places, and experiences than ever before.”

“Fiji Airways customers will now benefit from oneworld’s extensive global network. It encompasses over 900 destinations, along with priority services and premium lounge access. We are thrilled to welcome them into the oneworld family.”  

Fiji Airways, operating from its hub at Nadi International Airport, serves 25 destinations across 14 countries and territories.

This includes key oneworld hubs in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, and its newly added global destination, Dallas-Fort Worth. This further integrates the airline into the oneworld network.

This expansion significantly enhances connectivity for travelers seeking to explore the South Pacific and beyond.

Fiji Airways CEO Comments

Further enhancing the customer experience, Fiji Airways has adopted the award-winning American Airlines AAdvantage® travel rewards program as its frequent flyer program.

This ensures that the airline’s most frequent travelers can now enjoy all the benefits of the oneworld alliance as AAdvantage® members. It maximizes their rewards and travel perks.  

Fiji Airways has this week revealed plans to launch new flights between Nadi and Dallas Fort-Worth International Airport.
