Calgary International Airport (YYC) has reached a significant milestone, boasting a network of 100 non-stop routes. The addition of American Airlines’ seasonal weekly direct flight to New York City’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) marked the 100th route served.
This marks a new chapter for YYC, further solidifying its position as a key Canadian travel hub. It demonstrates the confidence airlines have in Calgary’s thriving economy and growing popularity.
“This is a significant benchmark for YYC,” says Chris Dinsdale, president and CEO, Calgary Airport Authority. “We continue to build momentum for Calgary as a destination.”

2025 Sees 100th Route Added
“Kicking off 2025 with 100 non-stop routes showcases the confidence that our partners have in the city and the region’s growth potential. We look forward to welcoming LaGuardia-bound guests and strengthening our ties to the New York City region.”
This new route to LGA is a first for Western Canada, offering unparalleled convenience for travelers in the region. Previously, direct flights between LGA and Canadian destinations were limited to Halifax, Toronto, and Montreal.
Airline partners already provide connections to the New York City region through Newark and JFK airports. The addition of LGA significantly enhances travel options for both business and leisure travelers.

Calgary Growth Trajectory
YYC’s impressive growth trajectory is evident in the steady increase in non-stop destinations. In 2024, the airport served 94 destinations, a notable increase from 82 in 2019.
This expansion reflects the airport’s commitment to providing passengers with a diverse range of travel choices. It connects Calgary to key domestic and international markets.
American Airlines will commence weekly Saturday flights between YYC and LGA on June 7, operating through August 30.
This seasonal service will cater to both leisure and business travelers seeking to experience the vibrant culture and dynamic business environment of New York City.
