Norwegian is set to enhance its route network at Stockholm Arlanda Airport with four new direct destinations ahead of summer 2025.
The airline will introduce routes to Bucharest, Porto, Lyon, and Bilbao, with Bilbao marking a brand-new addition to their network.
Each of these routes will be operated twice weekly, expanding travel options for passengers. They will provide further flexibility for travelers across the Nordic region.
Capitalizing on Strong International Demand
Elizabeth Axtelius, Director of Aviation Business at Swedavia, highlighted the significance of these new routes. “Norwegian’s expansion demonstrates the continued strong demand for international travel from the Swedish market,” she explained.
Swedavia’s mission to increase connectivity and facilitate travel for business, leisure, and family visits is further supported by Norwegian’s extensive network.
Magnus Thome Maursund, Norwegian’s commercial director, expressed excitement about the new destinations. “The summer holiday is something everyone anticipates. We’re thrilled to offer new and exciting travel options across the Nordic region,” he said.
Recognizing that many travelers plan and book early, Norwegian is providing more choices for summer travel. It caters to the growing desire for diverse and accessible European destinations.
Launch Dates for New Routes
The new routes will launch at specific dates in 2025:
- Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) to Bucharest (OTP): Thursdays and Saturdays, starting May 1st
- Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) to Porto (OPO): Wednesdays and Saturdays, beginning June 4th
- Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) to Lyon (LYS): Mondays and Fridays, starting June 13th
- Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) to Bilbao (BIO): Tuesdays and Saturdays, commencing June 14th
This strategic expansion reflects Norwegian’s commitment to providing comprehensive and convenient travel options. By introducing these new routes, the airline will meets the growing demand for international travel. It also supports regional connectivity and tourism development.
