A Norwegian flight operating from London Gatwick to Gothenburg has declared an emergency squawking code 7700 shortly after departure.
Norwegian flight D84903, a Boeing 737-800, has declared a general emergency and is presently holding in the Norwich area.

Flight D84903 squawked code 7700 at 13:00 UTC whilst on climb through FL230. The flight had then discontinued the climb and is currently holding in the Norwich area at FL200. The nature of the emergency is not yet known.
13:25 UTC: Return to London
Norwegian flight D84903 has now exited the holding pattern and is on descent and positioning for a return to London. Flight crew are maintaining the emergency transponder code 7700 for priority. The intended arrival airport is not yet confirmed.
01:30 UTC: Approach to London Stansted
Flight D84903 is now on descent below 10,000 ft and appears to be diverting to London Stansted. The nature of the emergency remains unclear at this stage.
Reports advise that London Stansted has a ground stop on flights in place until Norwegian D84903 has landed.
13:40 UTC: Landed London Stansted
Having declared an emergency shortly after departure from London Gatwick earlier this afternoon, flight D84903 had now landed at London Stansted Airport.
