Nolinor B737-400 Damaged on Landing in Montreal After Left Gear Fails to Extend

A Nolinor Aviation B737-400 sustained substantial damage when its left main gear failed to fully extend on landing at Montréal Mirabel International Airport (YMX).

A Nolinor Boeing 737-400 has been damaged when its left main landing gear failed to fully extend during a landing at Montreal Mirabel International Airport. The landing incident occurred at 11:22am local time on 27 November 2024.

Nolinor flight N5662, operated by a Boeing 737-400, had originated from Quebec City Jean Lesage Airport. The charter flight was carrying 87 passengers and crew and was en route to Wabush Airport in Labrador, with a stop at Saguenay-Bagotville Airport.

During the subsequent approach to Saguenay-Bagotville Airport, flight crew reported a fault with the aircraft’s landing gear. As a result, the operating crew elected to make a precautionary diversion to Mirabel International Airport.

The aircraft then landed at Mirabel airport with the left main gear assembly failing to fully extend according to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB).

Nolinor Aviation, the Mirabel-based operator, released a statement confirming the details of the landing incident. The operator confirmed that all 87 passengers and crew were safe and no injuries were reported.

The aircraft was met by emergency services on its arrival at Mirabel International Airport (YMX). Nolinor expressed its gratitude to its crews and team members for their professional handling of the landing incident. The operator also extended thanks to its passengers and to the emergency services who provided quick response.

The Canadian Transportation Safety Board (TSB) has attended the Montreal Mirabel site and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Flight Details


Flight data shows that flight N5662 made its initial departure from Quebec City Jean Lesage Airport (YQB) at 0958 local time on 27 November.

The flight had then proceeded to Saguenay Bagotville Airport (YBG). During the approach, flight crew noted an unsafe gear indication and aborted the landing. The diversion to Montréal Mirabel International Airport was then conducted.

The aircraft operating the N5662 service was a Boeing 737-400, registered C-GGWX. This is a 34.7 year old narrowbody aircraft operated by Nolinor Aviation.
