LONDON – On February 3, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) announced its intentions to launch flights to the capital of Norway, Oslo from the Ukraine capital, Kyiv.
These flights will be operated by their Embraer E190. Tickets are available for purchase using UIA’s official website.
The new Oslo route is due to commence on June 1, 2022, and will be operated three-weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The flight will depart from Kyiv’s Boryspil International Airport (KBP) at 08:25 am and will arrive at Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) at 10:15 am. The return flight will depart Oslo at 16:00pm and arrive in Kyiv at 17:50pm.
Ukraine International Airlines currently has a total of seven Embraer E190 aircraft in its fleet, alongside 16 Boeing 737-800 NG’s and two Boeing 767-300ER’s, they did use to have three Boeing 777-200ER’s, but these left their fleet in 2020.
However, across all their aircraft, UIA does offer three classes, economy, premium economy, and business. The Embraer aircraft will be utilized on the new Oslo route come in a 2+2 configuration.
This new route comes as surprising news given the ongoing heightened tensions between Russia, Ukraine, and the western world and shows that UIA is still wanting to expand despite the unknowns around the situation as to whether Russia will invade Ukraine or not.
