MADRID – At the gala of the global Loyalty & Awards conference in Madrid on October 11th, the winners of the 2022 Golden Loyalty Awards were announced.
5 categories were included as follows:
- Best Loyalty Innovation (Suppliers category)
- Best Marketing Campaign
- Best use of Technology
- Excellence in Management
- Best Loyalty Partnerships
Best Loyalty Innovation (Suppliers category)
Short-listed for the following award were Currency alliance (Charles Ehredt), Loyalty Juggernaut and StatusMatch (Mark Ross-Smith).
Ultimately Loyalty Juggernaut won the award for the second time in a row, having won in 2021 as it introduced new technology which enables loyalty managers to focus on strategy differentiation.
The award was received by Shyam Shah, CEO.
Best Marketing Campaign
Short-listed for the following award were Emirates Skymiles, Etihad Guest and Lufthansa’s Miles & More.
Winner of the award was Etihad Guest for its “Big Australia Celebration” as Australia re-opened its borders in addition to operating a special flight for its 175 top Australian Etihad guest members.
“We’re so incredibly proud to be up here today and to be recognized for the essence of thoughtfulness” she said upon receiving the trophy.
Best use of Technology
Short-listed for the following award were AirAsia rewards, Miles & More and Xiamen air.
Winner of the award was Miles & More which was received by Christopher Siegloch, Senior Director Loyalty Development & Service, as the company added gamification “My Challenge” to its app, increasing its customer usage.
Excellence in Management
Short-listed for the following award was Qantas loyalty, GHA Discovery and Xiamen air.
Qantas loyalty won this year and was received by Qantas Country manager Juan Oviedo, as the carrier introduced its Green Tier, one of the few frequent flyer programs to focus on sustainability.
Best Loyalty Partnerships
Short-listed for the following award were Air Canada’s Aeroplan, AirAsia rewards and Etihad Guest.
Aeroplan was the winner for 2022 and the award was received by Derek Whitworth, Managing Director, Marketing & Loyalty Optimization, Air Canada as it introduced personalized co-branded credit cards in the U.S market with Chase.
Rio de Janeiro 2023
Next year’s global Loyalty & Awards conference will be held in Rio de Janeiro October 9th-11th where we hope to see the judges decide over even more innovative ideas than this years, and cannot wait for what’s to come.
