LONDON – Textron Aviation has delivered a specially equipped Cessna Citation Longitude jet to the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB).
The aircraft has been role modified to carry out flight validation and flight inspection operations to ensure the integrity of airways in Japanese national airspace.
In addition to the new Citation Longitude, the JCAB currently operates five Citation CJ4 jets in a similar flight inspection capacity.

Role modification equipment
The new aircraft is role equipped to check the operation of a range of ground-based navigation aids and instrument landing systems.
The new JCAB Longitude is outfitted with the UNIFIS 3000-G2 flight inspection equipment to perform critical verification of navigation aids such as Instrument Landing System Category I, II, and III (ILS Cat I,II,III) approaches, Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS), Very High Frequency Omni-Directional Range (VOR), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN) and much more.

The new Citation Longitude integrates latest technology throughout the aircraft, with customers benefitting from the lowest direct operating costs for an aircraft in this class.
Powered by 2 FADEC-equipped Honeywell HTF7700L turbofan engines, the Longitude offers best in class maintenance intervals of 800 hour/18 months and Textron Aviation maintenance and diagnostic systems (AReS).
The spacious cockpit incorporates easier access and an ergonomic design that fully focuses on crew comfort and efficiency. No other super-midsize business jet offers more range, greater payload or higher cruise speed at a lower direct operating cost.
The Longitude became the newest member of the Cessna Citation family following its certification in September 2019.
The Japan Civil Aviation Bureau
JCAB is Japan’s civil aviation authority, and forms part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLITT).
The Bureau oversees the Ministry’s air navigation services department, aviation safety and security department, aviation network department and international affairs.
